Key points:
– Many young people have low democratic self-confidence, so the conversation needs to be more at eye level
– Participation in the dialogue must be made more accessible and enjoyable – regardless of whether you are young, female or a minority
– The framework of the conversation is often set by adults on their terms – we need to challenge the traditional forms and formats in which we talk
– We need to strengthen cross-generational dialogue and build bridges between the digital youth and the adults who set the framework for young people
– We need to become better at providing information about alternatives to big tech products
– We need to get better at talking about source criticism, ethics and values
We discussed the possibility of organising joint, nationwide online workshops where we learn more about alternatives and focus on source criticism. We look forward to continuing this meaningful dialogue.
