Democracy is learned early. And if we want young people to engage today and throughout their lives we must show them that their commitment matters. In school. In the workplace. In every community. We must demonstrate that the voices of young people are vital to our shared future.
Democracy thrives when all voices are heard, not just the loudest or most extreme. And engaged citizens are the foundation of democracy. When we listen to one another – even in disagreement – we don’t weaken it. We strengthen it.
