Some have done better than others, but the spirit of resilience and reinvention has always endured.

Global tech giants are leveraging our journalism, our stories, and our creativity to fuel their platforms without fair remuneration. They develop powerful new technologies behind closed doors, sharing insights only with a privileged few. They reap the benefits of our content and our audiences while keeping the data to themselves.

The imbalance threatens not only the business models of independent media, but also the very fabric of informed democracy. Now is the time for accountability, for transparency, and for fairness.

The Danish media stand united in this vital work for democracy. The media outlets engage wholeheartedly and prioritise this voluntary effort – because we do care.
