DPCMO files a complaint against Meta to the DSA Authority

DPCMO claims that Meta/Facebook violates article 12 of the Digital Services Act. Facebook dominates the infrastructure for much of the public conversation. With such power should come accountability and transparency.

Danish media outlets find that Facebook removes legitimate media content without notice, explanation or right of appeal. This kind of censorship is harmful to the media, which loses credibility and traffic – and to citizens, who are cut off from access to legal content.

At the same time, media outlets find it virtually impossible to get in touch with Meta/Facebook. This is unacceptable, which is why we hope that the DSA Authority can get Meta to comply with the rules of having a local contact that can rapidly, directly and efficiently handle enquiries.
