DPCMO’s trial against OpenAI is underway. Today we file another pleading. As expected, it is a difficult trial. Our enforcement framework is not designed to deal with global giants that seem to operate above the rule of law. This challenges our information ecosystem, as the damage often only becomes visible once it is difficult to reverse.
Fortunately, the Danish media industry stands united in its work to promote fairness, accountability, media pluralism, and informed citizens. At a time when trust in media is under pressure globally, collective commitment matters.

The EU Commission designates ChatGPT under the Digital Services Act as a search engine. Virkkunen states that ChatGPT will now be held to a higher standard of scrutiny and accountability in the EU in line with their large impact on citizens and society.
