New Danish Government with Focus on Big Tech

Denmark’s new government programme outlines an ambitious approach to technology, media, democracy, and competitiveness.

Key initiatives include a stricter regulation of Big Tech, a minimum age of 15 for social media use, a proposed tech tax, stronger protections against AI-generated misinformation and deepfakes, and support for European technological sovereignty.

The programme also places a strong emphasis on strengthening Danish media and public-interest journalism through media reform, modernised media support, and measures to ensure access to trusted Danish-language content across generations.

The overall vision is to balance innovation and AI-driven growth with democratic values, social cohesion, cultural resilience, and public trust.
