The Conversation Relay Visits Silkeborg Folk High School

What an inspiring afternoon with the dedicated students from Silkeborg Højskole/ Folk High School which our Conversation Relay has just visited.

We listened to and learnt from the young people – some key insights:

💡 we need to get better at listening to understand, not listening to respond
💡 trust between people needs to be strengthened – “them and us” rhetoric erodes trust
💡we need to talk each other up – not down – a shift towards encouragement and support
💡 we need to speak at eye level – equality in our communication
💡 source criticism, critical thinking and digital literacy are essential for all generations

Again, we are reminded that face-to-face dialogue has a kind of magic in today’s fast-paced, digital world. Engagement is empowering and involvement drives impact. It’s not rocket science, but sometimes we forget the obvious.
