TikTok keeps children and young people hooked

For some, it creates an addiction that is associated with lower well-being. This is according to an analysis published today by the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority.

We discussed TikTok today with the National Organisation for Children’s Welfare/Børns Vilkår.

Children and young people deserve a safe digital environment – regardless of their geographical, economic and personal background. We must respect and protect them from illegal and harmful content, from misinformation and manipulation, and empower them with access to reliable and age-appropriate content which fosters critical thinking, digital resilience and informed participation in our society.

We need a united front against TikTok – and other tech platforms. Those of us who fight for our children, our free press and democracy must stand together and take action.
